Full Text Sources

United Nations Treaty Series (UNTS) (KZ172.T74). Under the United Nations Charter all member nations are required to register their treaties, both bilateral and multilateral, with the United Nations. UNTS includes the full texts of treaties and international agreements which have been registered with the Secretary General of the UN. The treaties are arranged by date of registration.  The UNTS is also available on the
Web.

International Legal Materials (JX 68.15). A source for draft treaties or recently adopted treaties, ILM is published every other month and often includes important international documents before they are available elsewhere. ILM is also available on both Lexis and Westlaw, and 1962-2004 issues are available on Hein Online, which is accessible from networked computers in the Downtown Campus, Main Campus, Rice Campus, or by remote access for students and faculty.

WESTLAW: Use database identifiers such as ILM, GATT, USTREATIES, or NAFTA; alternatively, from the Directory, choose International & Worldwide Materials, then Multi-National Materials, then Legislation.

LEXIS: ILM, GATT, NAFTA, and Basic Documents of International Law are all available. To access these, from the main page choose Area of Law - by Topic, then International Law, then Treaties & International Agreements.

The Fletcher-Ginn School Multilaterals Project is an ongoing project at the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy, Tufts University, which makes the full texts of international multilateral conventions available. The vast majority of texts are from the second half of the 20th century forward, but the collection also includes some historical texts.
