Faculty, students, and staff of the IIT Downtown Campus Library are invited to send questions to our reference librarians.  We will also accept questions from other academic users.

IM reference is open during normal reference hours (Monday – Thursday: 8 am - 9 pm; Friday: 8 am – 5 pm; Saturday:
9 am – 5 pm; Sunday: 10 am – 6 pm).

The chat service is best used to ask general questions about the library or briefly discuss research and library resources.  For longer research questions, please contact us by phone (1-312-906-5670), email, or stop by our reference desk. 

We will not provide legal advice.

All chats are confidential.  Transcripts will be used only for educational and research purposes and all identifying information will be removed.
