Using EBSCO Business Source Premier
to Find Company & Product Information

Basic Search

If you aren’t sure what information is available about your topic, start with a Basic Search

STEP 1: Click on the “Basic” tab and enter “keywords” that describe your topic or product.

STEP 2: Your results screen is organized into a list of numbered “citations” that will link you to the article or an abstract of the article if you click on the title or the full text link. If you find a large number of articles, they will be separated into several pages.

Each citation can help you judge how much and what kind of information is in the article. If you recognize a respected journal, that may be a good sign, but you should also note the date it was published and check how many pages long the article is.

STEP 3: If your Basic search gave you too many articles to read, you can use two simple tools to organize the results and find the best information quickly: “filters” and “sorts”.

Sorts: You can also sort your results by date or “relevance” to find the articles that have the most current information or have the most to do with your topic.

Filters: The source filters are listed at the top of your search page in the green bar.

You can switch back to “all results” or any other filter without losing any information.
